  6. Matched
    by Allie Condie

Here in the Society, officials decide. Who you marry, where you work and when you die.
Cassia Reyes has always trusted our choices. It's barely a price to live in a perfect world, live a long and hearty life, and die happy. So when her best friend shows up as the boy she was going to marry, she knew he was the one. Until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
Now Cassia is faced with an impossible choice, Xander or Ky. Either the life she's always known, or a path no one has dared to go through.
    Between perfection and passion.
But this is the Society, and we always aim for perfection.

Setting: The Society, Cassia's home, and other places.

    Characters:

Cassia: A girl who wore a rare green dress, who loved her grandfather, and who wanted to make her own choice.

Xander: A boy who always beat Ky at games, who planted flowers and ending up sharing a kiss with Cassia, and who was in love with Cassia for as long as he could remember.

Ky: A boy who cried during a play, whose mother painted with water on stone, and who isn’t allowed to be matched with anyone.

I rate this 5 out of 5 stars. I love this kind of writing where you say words that are connected to the word you mean to connect it to but it depends on the readers’ connection to the story for the word to connect to the word you mean to connect it to, you know?

My sense of writing is very similar to Allie’s, and her style has inspired my own style. Which I’m greatly thankful for.

If you like dystopias, romance and poetry you will like this. Matched has a great writing style and tone to it, which I love.

I liked it because it was written beautifully, and that it was so similar to The Giver from Lois Lowry. I also love dystopias and just this boOK WAS GREAT OK.
    1. It has great characters.
    2. All three books are amazing.
    3. It’s written in a great style.

    Main Characters:

-Celaena Sardothien: An eighteen year old assassin who competes in a competition for her freedom.

-Dorian Havilliard: The crown prince of Adarlan. He sponsors Celaena in the competition.

-Chaol Westfall: Close friend of Dorian and is the captain guard. He trains with Celaena in the competition.

    Rating:

I would rate this book a 4 and 1/2, because it has me intrigued every page about what is going to happen next. It also has some very deep words, even though some of the words are a bit too descriptive, if you know what I mean (just a warning for some words that are not suitable for all people if you are interested). I think someone who likes a fantasy and adventure mix would love this book, along with that bit of mystery.

I loved this book partially because of it's writing style. It doesn't show who's the 'main character' in that chapter/paragraph, but after reading a bit, you know that chapter/paragraph is focused around this person. It really puts a new component into reading. I also liked how some of the juicy words were not common or were ‘old fashioned’ (or at least to me), which also matched the storyline (e.g. vulgar).

Why I liked it- Every chapter had an amazing cliffhanger making it hard to stop; one thing I didn't like was that in some parts the story wasn't as detailed or it was just boring, and finally I like how you could assume or guess some parts of the story and was just waiting for it to happen.
